Life in the Kingdom of God is an exciting life. It’s a life full of promises for abundance. It’s our Father’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom! But first you must know for sure that you ARE a Child of God.
Everyone was created by God but not everyone is a Child of God. It’s your choice. Here’s the deciding question:
What have you decided to do with Jesus Christ?
John 14:6 “Jesus said unto him, “I am the way the truth and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me.””
Jesus said in John 10:10, “The enemy (devil) came only to kill, to steal and destroy – but I came that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly!”
That seems to be a “no brainer” decision, but the devil can really play havoc with your soul and tell you all sorts of lies about your Heavenly Father. The devil is known as the “Father of Lies” (John 8:44)
The Father made it easy for you to become a Child of God.
It says in Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved…”
Once you’ve chosen Jesus as your Savior, the Lord of your life – then you are officially a Child of God!
I John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called Children of God! And that is what we are…”
Now God is your Father. You are in His own Family! He is the best Father in the Universe and takes perfect care of His children.
No longer are you under the thumb of that little twerp with the big lying mouth… AKA – the Devil.
This is exciting! You now have freedom to live the abundant life that Jesus made possible for you to live. Here on earth – not just in the “sweet by and by” after you go to heaven.
Learning your identity and inheritance as a Child of God is the first step to living abundantly in the Kingdom of God.
This gets me really excited. I love helping people understand their new identity. And what belongs to them.
As a Child of God, your Father loves to lavish His love on you.
Here’s a few powerful truths about you – the Child of God:
Even before the world was created, you were planned.
Ephesians 1:4 “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.”
You are a Child of the King, adopted into His family.
Ephesians 1:5 “Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.”
You have been MADE acceptable to God.
Romans 5:1 “Therefore, since we have been made righteous through His faithfulness combined with our faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
You are an heir in Christ.
Romans 8:17 “And if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together with Him.”
You are blessed coming in and going out.
Deuteronomy 28: 6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.”
Your storehouses are blessed and everything you touch prospers.
Deuteronomy 28 :8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”
You lack no good thing.
Psalm 34:10 “The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”
You have an abundance for every good work.
2 Cor. 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundant for every good work.”
You were predestined by God for success.
Romans 8:28-30 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first born among many brethren.”
The Creator of the Universe, your Dad, loves you with an everlasting love.
Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord appeared to me saying, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love, there with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”
These are just a few of the things God says about you – His Child.
But, here’s a warning – always be on guard for lies. Although the devil is defeated, he will still try to trick and deceive you. His number one tactic is to try to get you to doubt your identity. Don’t let him get away with it!
So it’s important to always be renewing your mind about who you are as a Child of God. To help you with that – I have a gift for you.
I’ve made these promises into posters that you can print off and post in your office, on your mirror or wall.
We’ll never exhaust all the amazing features and blessings of your identity as a Child of God – this will just get us started.
